Jensen Brent

Owner/Director of Training

Jensen is a 2003 graduate of Miami University. Upon completion of his studies at Miami, Jensen accepted a position as Sports Biomechanist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Biodynamics Center. During his 8+ years at CCHMC, Jensen worked to produce many published scientific studies relating to ACL injury prevention, physical training for youth and adolescent populations, and optimizing performance in elite athletes. Jensen has also lectured at many national and international conferences on the aforementioned topics. While at Children’s Hospital, Jensen also directed the sports performance and injury prevention training programs for young athletes. This involved both program design as well as hands-on training of athletes of all levels.

In August of 2012, his interest in working more closely with the individual athletes led Jensen to resign from his full time role at Children’s Hospital to open The Academy of Sports Performance. He still maintains close professional ties with CCHMC and regularly consults with their clinical and research staff regarding a variety of projects.

Jensen is an adjunct professor at Xavier University in the Exercise Science program and previously at Mt. St. Joe University in the Athletic Training program.

Currently, he works with athletes of all levels, from aspiring adolescents to professionals and Olympic hopefuls. This includes a wide variety of sports and physical disciplines.

Jensen has personally competed in and/or trained for a wide variety of physical activities including: wrestling, rugby, MMA, strongman, Muay Thai, and powerlifting. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife (Colleen) and daughters (Maggie & Lucy).
